Trip To France Part 2

Me, Eric and Lucas travelled down to Langeac on Sunday, before Mariellen and the rest, to get the house ready, warmed up and the water running - because the house is old and isn't very warm so we needed to open all the windows to let some of the outside heat in and check for any cracks in the pipes - there is normally somebody in the house all year round but it gets very cold in the winter and if no one comes the pipes can crack and burst from the ice if the water wasn't cut off propperly earlier in the year...
On a quite curious search around the house for something to do while we waited for Monday, I found these (up ^) - haven't been used or touched and are still in the cushioned boxI suppose they came with. I'm not sure if these were supposed to be food plates or merely ornamental but I'm sure they haven't see the light of day in a very long time - seen as my father's owned the house since his grandparents died in the 70s and was living there since his parents broke up and his dad died and didn't know they even existed until quite recently. I'm not quite sure how old they are... either a wedding gift to my great grandparents when they married - so from about the 20s or 30s - or a family heir loom that belonged to my great grandmother's side of the family (they were quite well off)... I certainly know they can't have come very cheap considering that certainly the edges apear to be hand painted - the flowers in the circle (you can't really see them here) and the gold leaf... I'm not too sure about the other pictures on the plates cos they're all different so there is nothing to compare... but they could just be prints or etchings sooo....

Trip To France - Part 1

So, on my trip, I stopped off at Riri and Claude's place for a couple of days... They live in a region in the east can't remember what it's called but hey, life goes on... It was pretty cool... I visited the place that my great grandfather was born at - it's this little house above a shop... the house and shop have been renovated since then but the building is essentially the same... in the same town I managed to say hello to his younger brother, André's wife and daughter... the woman's over 90 now and her and André had a car accident when they were much younger so her hearing's not up to much - it's a bit of a struggle trying to talk to the woman but with Francoise there it wasn't quite as much of a bore...
In the next few days I went with the rest of the gang up to the lake... it's really nice - I've been there a couple of times before but that was when I was much younger and didn't really appreciate it as much... again, this did once belong to my great grandfather but he gave it to Riri's family when he moved down to Langeac so that it could be kept maintained... I think it used to belong a monastery up the hill as a fish reserve for the monks but they were sold off and somehow our family came into having 3... 2 of which everyone kept quite well but one of them has barely been touched until we tried to drain it on the Saturday before last... it turned out one of the plugs on the thing had collapsed so we all had to get a spade and dig until the water was coming out of it... I don't know what's happened to it now because we couldn't finish it all in less than a day...
Later in that day we went to Gene-Daniel and Mariellen's house for dinner... they place is quite beautiful - it's this small village called Charmois... though it may not be big or stunningly diverse it's quite interesting and quaint - with a stork nest on a pole in the middle where you can see the babies etc... In front of their house there's also this beautiful apple tree and because of the time of year all of the little blossoms were out - I got a couple of pictures of them...

Well I cba to write anything else for today...

Back From France

So, I'm finally back in England after 10 days of trecking about France, talking to distant relatives and the likes... I'm still pretty tired and I have lots of shit to talk about so I think I'll leave it today and spread the whole holiday out over the next few weeks... Enjoy these pictures of the sunset after we got off the tunnel for the moment... Btw, the blury bits aren't from my camera being crap... it was really hot in France so there were lots of bugs flying about and when you're driving they go all over the windscreen etc... seriously, my numberplate is so covered in bugs it's starting to get hard to read... me thinks I'm gonna need to clean it :S

Weird Text

I woke this morning to find that posted on my phone... it was sort of weird because I was half asleep and therefore had no fucking clue what it was going on about...but it turned out Eric was getting his son one of those bug comics with the bugs in a block of plastic and they only had the ant ones... why he thought I would care, I do not know... but it sure gave me and Izzie a good laugh...

In other news, this time tomorrow I'll be in France at Reori and Claude's place, getting ready to go down to Langeac with Mariellen and that lot... which means I probably wont update on here until Easter Sunday night... unless Gene-Daniel lets me go on his computer while we're in the east but it'll probably just be a quick ramble about nothing as per usual and no drawings....

Well... I'm off to clean my ears because my 3rd hole decided to go ceptic and infect my 2nd one aswell ¬¬ FML!

A Midnight Scribble

So yes, I got bored and drew a face... well sort of let my hand do whatever it wanted... and I like to draw people - they're much more interesting than most inanimate objects, I mean I had to draw a stack of books today and I almost died... I do adore old things but not for drawing unless they have intricate patterns on them... like in an Art Nouveau sort of style or the likes...

In other news, I really should get on with my work - I have to do like a mountain of art bollocks to write and like 8 or 9 double pages of sketches, ideas, etc. to finish within the next week or so. I'm shagged!¬¬

Crocodile In My Head

Yeah, this may be a bit childish, but whenever I have a bath, I find myself trying to be a crocodile... I don't know why, I just like it, get the urge... the water feels really nice on your face aswell... it's all comfeh ;)

Hopefully, I'm going to redye my hair to night, seriously, I haven't done it in like 3 months and th roots are becoming really noticeable, so I'm thinking of trying to get it back to my natural colour because in the sunlight, my hair goes stupidly ginger... it's annoying...

I Feel Like a TOAD ¬¬

So toadish... I swear... I'm like a human version of a toad... it like... UGH! And I have to go in on friday, when I was supposed to be having a day off, to do some 'neccecary' work... and apparently, if I dodn't do it they might have to chuck me off the course... FML!

Buuuuuuuuuuut... in about a week and a day, I'm going to be in France, drooling all over Antione (because he's gooooooooooreouuuuuuuuus)... oh and I'm going get probably some of the most legendary Easter eggs, ever - In France... or at least Lan Geac/the Auvergne they do this thing of instead of having an easter bunny and a huge egg hunt, the Bells bring it, one, and, two, the Easter eggs are awesome! Instead of your normal ones where it's like a chocolate egg, you get like a chocolate fish or bunny or egg or something along those lines, and inside there's like a mountain of sweets and tiny chocolate fish and eggs and bunnys... the are the coolest... whenever I went down to Lan Geac when I was a kid I'd always really hope it was Easter just so I could get one... but a couple of years back - because my family liked to keep the British tradions when we went down - I found a fucking ancient egg in the grass from when we used to do the hunts all melted and grim... but I put it in the fridge... and then gave it to Eric ;)

Les Cochons Sont Venu Chez Moi!

Mais, non... c'est faux :'(
Back to English ;)
So yeah, there was this old film on the Tv and at one point it said "The Pigs [meaning police] have come to the house"... Taking this very literally, I though of actual pigs... or like coming home to find a family of pigs waiting  for you... a bit terrifying... I'm thinking of turning it into a full scale painting for one of my upcoming Art exams... but I dunno...
